Awonderful locket from the Victorian era (ca1880). This beautifulpiece is made of 14kt yellow gold and is in the shape of rounded squarewhich hangs from its side from one of the corners. On the face of the locket is a simple yet interesting design with3old MineCut diamonds and 3 rows of calibrated rubies.Each row of rubies is comprised of 5 stones each. The stones are accented with 2 engraved lines that run through the center of the design. The back of the locket is ornately engraved with the initials "VJ". The locket opens to reveal a place foryour favoritephotograph. Thisbeautiful piece would make a great addition to any collection!
Measurements: The locket measuresa littleless than1 3/8" long and wide and 1/8" thick. The inside of the bail measures 1/4" long and1/8" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. There is no serious damage to the gold and all of thestones are intact.There is some normal wearanda couple ofvery small dingson the surface of the locket which is not uncommon for a Victorian piece. It closes easily and securely.
